President of Texas
Dirk Cheney is the current President of Texas. He was appointed to the position by the Election Committee of the bureaucratic government after the sudden death of the previous President, Thomas Masters and the apparent unwillingness of the Vice President to serve. He took office on January 15th, 5627.
Cheney went to the Naval Academy and was a Commodore in the Fourth Regional War. He served with distinction and was decorated. He was low enough in rank to escape the backlash against former military personnel that characterized the post-war political scene. After the war, Masters appointed him to a position in the War Department, and in 5624 he was promoted to Secretary of War. He did well in that office and it was not surprising that he was chosen for the Presidency.
Cheney is known to be an obsessive planner who likens his strategic decisions to a master’s moves in a game of chess. As a point of interest, he is also a highly ranked chess player.
