President of Newyork
Kas’Im Fade was elected President of Newyork by popular acclimation and was inaugurated on January 20, 5627.
Fade was the heir of a wealthy aristocratic family, but lost both his parents in a major disaster during his early teen years. Their orbital habitat collided with a meteorite and lost power, gradually reentering the atmosphere where it burned up. As a child he was evacuated but his parents were not so fortunate. He inherited nothing of his parents’ estate as their home and belongings were destroyed. He drifted for a few years before deciding to get an education in politics, history and law. After graduation he worked in the political field, ran for Senate and became extremely popular. He caught the attention of the former President, Randal Mellon and was soon in the highest echelons of power. When Mellon sought to retire he suggested that Fade should run for President.
Fade’s personal story as well as his personal charisma and support for popular political issues made him the early election favorite. By the end of the election his main opponent actually dropped out and threw his support to Fade. He was elected with an unprecedented 85% of the vote.
